My self-summary
I am not single! Just platonic conversations, please.

Note: In the "Her Details" column, imagine a < / sarcasm > tag after the job and income I listed.

As a human being, my nature is fluid and adaptive. I am capable of many things, and am not caught in a mythological trap that some cynics call "human nature." Among my capabilities are kindness and compassion, passion for justice and equality, honesty, and rational thought. I am also capable of things such as hypocrisy and greed, but I try to nurture the part of myself that is more inclined toward social and communal stability.

Some may call me an optimist, yet others call me a pessimist. However, I am aware of all of the potentials of our species, hence, I am a realist.

I love animals, dancing, writing, and spending long hours on the internet being completely unproductive. I have found recently that I have an affinity for asparagus and macaroni and cheese. I fear this will soon pass, however. The food here is "eh." I really miss New York pizza.

I am an atheist, a humanist and a naturalistic pantheist. I created my own spirituality when I was fourteen. I am a very rational person, and I have little tolerance for dogmatic religion and practices like homeopathy, both of which are incredibly dangerous and not based in reality.

Also, I hate Ayn Rand with an obsessive passion.

I have been asked about my reading background, and how I came into the political philosophy I now hold so dear. I was brought up by parents who have very similar beliefs to me, and they both do hard work trying to change their world and community: My mother helps people with psychological problems, and my father is a revolutionary high school teacher. I have read the Communist Manifesto, a bit of Proudhon and Goldman, as well as some Adam Smith, Amartya Sen, Noam Chomsky, James Lovelock, and Daniel Quinn, and I tried to read Rand (lol).

If you would like to know more about me, please go to my website. I have five blogs as well.

I am insightful, bizarre, and compassionate

What I’m doing with my life
I am a Veterinary Technology student at Massey University right now, and I hope to one day work with wildlife. I'm taking a summer break in Wellington.

My work on my spiritual self has stopped for the time being, and thus my spirituality has atrophied. I still consider myself a spiritual person, though I'm more willing to describe myself as an atheist or more accurately, a pantheist (which I always was).

Sitakali is writing great tests at OKCUPID, and holds her courage closely, with love and humor. I would like to get high with Sitakali! --Sylvia Wells

The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my hair. It's kinda wavy, poofy and outright voluminous. In New Zealand, my accent is another thing people notice. I'm from the US (Berkeley, CA), so my English is rhotic (just found out there was a word for it today).

I don't tend to be into small-talk. I prefer conversations to be less about the weather and more about ethics, rationality, life, politics, goals for humanity, etc.

On a typical Friday night I am
Pontificating the probability that paternalistic plutocracies will proliferate on the planet, propagating their power, pissing off the proletariat, and promoting apocalyptic pestilence and peak oil, purely for the purpose of profit.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I'm willing to admit that I take my beliefs very seriously. I can be quite self-righteous at times. I don't believe people should be proud to call themselves "moderate" or centrist; those are false terms that mean nothing, considering how they change every decade. You'd might as well say you have "the only logical political belief system" or that you believe in "common sense," which are both opinions, not facts.
